About Dr. Marcoux:

Growing up on a farm in rural Saskatchewan played a significant role in shaping Dr. Michelle’s career as an ND.  Her family grew a lot of their own food and prepared most meals from scratch.  Most playmates were siblings or cousins, and the great outdoors was their playground and primary source of entertainment.  From this prairie upbringing grew an appreciation for the basic fundamentals of good health - whole, home-cooked foods, community, and fresh air and sunshine.  Although it wasn’t immediately clear how that could translate into a career, Dr. Michelle knew she needed to do something with her life that allowed her to share those values with others.

After a lot of wandering, searching, and trying out careers, Dr. Michelle discovered naturopathic medicine and she knew she had found the way to live and teach all those values she learned growing up in rural Saskatchewan. After moving to BC to become an ND and then becoming a mom to 2 boys, Dr. Michelle eventually settled with her family in Saskatoon and opened her naturopathic practice.

As her practice evolved, Dr. Michelle developed a special interest in mental health and the nervous system. After being in practice for about 10 years and seeing many patients, she realized that the root of most people’s health symptoms lies in how well they manage the stress that occurs in their lives. Many people live in a state of chronic stress, what we call our “fight, flight, or freeze” response, and this will wear the body down and lead to problems such as hormone and blood sugar imbalance, fatigue, sleep issues, mood changes, aches and pains, autoimmune conditions, gut issues, and a general feeling of unwellness that gets worse with time. Dr. Michelle especially loves to help people build healthy foundations in their life so they can learn to manage and interrupt that chronic stress state and find a sense of safety and ease in their bodies. This is where true healing happens.

Dr. Michelle specializes in creating space for people to be seen and heard as their whole selves. She uses nutrition, lifestyle, supplement, botanical, and homeopathic support to address health concerns, as well as acupuncture and Bowen Therapy to support the physical body in finding balance and release from pain and tension.

In her spare time, Dr. Marcoux loves to do puzzles, listen to podcasts, read, soak in a hot bath, go for walks outside, connect with friends, and spend time with her family.
