Sarah founded New Earth Therapy in late 2020 as a home-based virtual practice, and within a few months began growing the team. In January 2021, she created New Earth’s Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy program, the first one in Saskatchewan. In June 2022, she was one of the first mental health practitioners in Canada, and the first in Saskatchewan, to provide Health Canada SAP approved Psilocybin-Assisted Psychotherapy for depression (previously only approved for end-of life anxiety in Canada).

Before opening New Earth Therapy, Sarah worked in private practice and with two local school divisions as a school Psychologist providing psychoeducational assessments. Prior to that, she taught high school french immersion and science at Walter Murray Collegiate in Saskatoon. Once she had her son, she decided to pursue private practice full time so that she could have more freedom in her career in terms of how she worked and when.

Sarah has a deep passion for somatic (body) based therapy. In 2022, she co-founded Journey Home (a somatic based practice offering group work, retreats, workshops and more) with her New Earth colleague, Lyndsay. Sarah believes that her work as a therapist requires constant learning and un-learning, and at any given time, you will usually find her enrolled in at least 2 courses, programs or trainings. She is currently working on her Somatic Experiencing training (she begins advanced level training shortly), and a somatic IFS training.

In 2024, Sarah co-founded Seeds of Strength with her friend and fellow medical mom, Kyla Thomson. SOS is an online resource and support hub for medical parents, the first of its kind in Canada. They offer lots of free resources for parents to help them navigate the realities of raising a medical child, as well as support and therapeutic groups, one-on-one sessions and more.

Sarah is a psychotherapist and entrepreneur, but if you ask her, her most important (and favorite) role, is being a mother. She is mom to a 7 year old son who has more energy than could be imagined and a huge heart of gold, as well as a 7 month old son who is the happiest baby you will ever meet. She calls an acreage near Rosthern home with her husband, Jason, and two sons (as well as chickens and cats). On top of running her businesses, she also homeschools her son. When she’s not working, you will likely find Sarah in her garden growing food or in the kitchen making and preserving food, planning the next family holiday to Vancouver Island (Tofino is the family favorite, and one day they will make the move!), or curled up on a chair with a good book and strong coffee. Sarah’s Christian faith is her foundation to everything she does - work, family and everything else. Some of the most important things in Sarah’s life include deep conversations, holistic and natural living, meaningful relationships, a good cuddle with her sons and of course… poutine.
